Rush began the week after classes began and sponsorship week was continued from last semester for the second time ever!

 

Rush events included: Info Night 1 & 2, Games and Dessert Night, Meet the Chapter, Service at Project Open Hand

Sponsorship week includes: Sponsoree Speed Dating, Sponsor/Sponsoree Reveal, Sponsoree Sunset Big C Hike and Smores

Namesake

Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity is proud to announce Brother Kay Hairgrove Krenek, Beta Sigma ’79 at Texas Tech in Lubbock, as the 2014 Fall Pledge Class Namesake Honoree.

 

At Texas Tech, Brother Krenek pledged Beta Sigma Chapter approximately two years after women were granted full membership in the Fraternity. She has played an important role in the Fraternity’s history as the first woman to chair a national committee, the first female elected to the Alpha Phi Omega Board of Directors and the first woman to chair a National Convention. As a Board member, Brother Krenek served on the Architectural Committee and chaired the Dedication of the current National Office. In 1998, Brother Krenek received the National Distinguished Service Key, the Fraternity’s highest recognition.
